Eddie Mol Le Pipo is a Black British singer-songwriter whose life and music embody the spirit of cultural fusion. Born in the Democratic Republic of Congo and now based in London, Eddie grew up immersed in the vibrant rhythms of Congolese soukouss and rumba, alongside a rich tapestry of international sounds. From his early days covering songs with friends on handmade instruments, acoustic “Almaz” guitars and a chair used as a drum, to playing in European bands, music has always been his way of connecting people across borders.
Now stepping fully into his own as a solo artist, Eddie has unveiled his debut album Avenue Mayala, a stunning collection he describes as “melting-pot music.” Reflecting the diverse backgrounds of his carefully chosen team of musicians and singers, the album is a celebration of unity through sound. Sung in Lingala, French, English, and other languages, the songs weave together influences from Africa, Europe, Asia, and America, creating a vibrant sonic journey that transcends geography and genre.
