Evil Empire
Genre: Rock
Evil Empire’s version of chilling out is a tune packed with thick riffs, real swagger, and rollocking drums.
This band was created during the global Covid pandemic in Hackney Wick, East London. They play tight, punchy songs, with a large dose of Queens of the Stone Age and classic 70s rock.
Their live performances transport you to a biker bar in the southern US states, where darts games get out of hand and beer bottles shatter on the floor as a brawl breaks out.
The guitarist and singer is an absolute master of knowing when to smash out a riff, and when to make his instrument chug along in support of the tune. Occasionally he’ll pull a Hendrix-style lick or solo out of the air to add even more depth to their already full sound.
The rhythm section are fantastic. Immovable when it comes to the beat, meaning that songs that could rush away in the hands of lesser players stay locked in the groove.
The group have recently added a second guitarist and multi – instrumentalist to continue the group’s evolution.
After a 2 year break, Evil Empire are about to release their Debut EP. Follow them on instagram @evilempireuk for information and updates on this and upcoming live shows.
